1. Assertive / Declarative

States a fact or opinion. Ends with (.).

• "The sun rises in the east."

Tip: Look for simple statements.

2. Interrogative

Asks a question. Ends with (?).

• "Where is your admit card?"

3. Imperative

Command or Request. Starts with a verb.

• "Please sign here."

4. Exclamatory

Strong emotions. Ends with (!).

• "What a great result!"

5. Optative

Wishes or prayers.

• "May God bless you!"
